It's been almost five months since I graduated from college and I'll admit that the "real world" is still a bit intimidating to me. Stepping out of endless school all-nighters and finding my footing with a full time job and new single woman status has been quite interesting! I no longer have to spend the weekends, well really Sundays, finishing homework, but instead I now find myself with countless hours of free time.
I still live at home with my family and I probably will until the end of next year. I have a huge Spanish family and I love all of our crazy adventures. There's always something going on around the house or on the weekends, which is a plus!
I was seriously fortunate enough to land a job right out of college and the transition from student to full time employee was tricky at first. Unlike school where you can miss a day or two, work requires commitment and dedication. If you're still in school and don't know what to do to jump start your career, I'd highly recommend internships! Even virtual internships can enhance your resume.
So what does a post-grad like myself do now that I'm out of college? I've treated myself to delicious dinners, danced the night away with friends, signed up for volunteering and pushed myself to do the best that I can at my job. It's a different lifestyle than my past four years, but I LOVE it. I've known since about third grade that I wanted to work in the media business, but now that I'm out of school, I can really find myself. I can't wait to see what the future holds but for now I'm reveling in the present and treating everyday as an adventure.
I'd love for you to join me :)
Welcome to Everyday Meagan.
